Desperate

My life is desperate....it is full of sadness and sorrow, I am so desperate that I just wanna die..

Let me take a walk in my neighborhood...I just feel so desperate..

 Hey, this is the house of Mr. A....he seems so sad, his wife died few years ago, his 9 children are rarely paying a visit to him. Two of his sons are living close by, yet, they barely heat up the chair they sit on when they come to see him, nor send him any money or food.

This is the house of Mrs. F!. She has been widower at young age and is now growing old, but she has not managed to see her grand children for years, as her son refuses to visit her or bring them to her. She cries a lot and looks very sad too...She used to be a very pretty woman, but she refused to remarry in order to take care of her four children. Today, the children are all grown up and they seem to have forgotten all the good that she did to them.

Here is Miss J flat...look, she too is crying...she built dreams onto marrying her long time fiancé, but he turned to be a crook and is now serving prison term. He was put in jail few weeks before their planned wedding. Miss J's father recently died and the flat owner refuses to extend the lease, soon she will be left without house, without father and without husband.

This is Dr. S house. He has been married for very long time, but they still have not been blessed by any baby. His wife looks very sad, she prays a lot to be a mother...Him too is very sad, he tries to hide his sorrow the best he could. Their house is so silent..

I am close to Mr and Mrs. K house...both of them have been out of job for years, they are job seeking but can't find any durable job. As a result, they had to pull their elder daughter out of school as they can't afford the fees anymore, the family is in real desperate need, morale is low, a lot of crying and sadness are in this house...

I'm passing by Mrs. H house..She has a nice family, but her husband is a drug addict. This is certainly a calamity and she is confronted to a serious and terrible issue, her tears won't help calm the little crying kids, the family is running low on money, debts are building up...

This is the house of Mr & Mrs. I. She has a very nice house, she is a young lady but she has been battling with cancer for few years now. She has Leukemia and she has young children...I am not sure about what could be all her feelings in this situation...

So, did you get the message? You must be thankful for what you have, and just stop complaining. There are so many people around us who are in a much worse situation than ours. We all know one of these individuals, who are by the way, all real personalities, from my relatives and friends. Their story is as described, I can't find any word sometimes to say when I meet with them. All I can tell them, is to stay patient, that after the hardship, there is ease...after hardship, there is ease...

Sudden deaths

Subhane Allah, we keep hearing these days about young people dying suddenly. One of our colleagues at work lost his wife 2 days ago, he talked to her over the phone, and 30mn later, he received another call telling him that his wife had just died, suddenly. He traveled back to his country for the funerals and I felt very sorry for him and his loss, inna lil'Allah, was inna ilayhi rajiun.
Across the past few months, so many people just died around us, without accident, without previous illness, some were very young, 18years or so, some very athletic just like another friend who passed away a week ago, about 40 years old, again, all of sudden. Sister Mena has just posted something very similar on her blog.
May Allah Make us take the lessons of all this, and Soften our hearts, and Grant us a nice death, where He would be pleased with us.

Our Prophet Mohammad (Peace and blessing be upon him) said: One of resurrection day’s signs is the appearance of abrupt death.  Attabarani.

From islam qa website http://islamqa.info/en/ref/43840:

With regard to the order in which the portents of the Hour will appear, there is some difference of opinion among the scholars, the reason being that no such order or events is narrated in the Sunnah. However the scholars have determined the order of some of the events, as follows:
1 – The appearance of the minor portents of the Hour, of which there are many which will not appear in any specific order. These include: the sending of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and his death; the plague of ‘Amwaas; the appearance of tribulations; the loss of honesty; the disappearance of knowledge; the spread of riba, musical instruments and alcohol; regarding these things as permissible; competition in erecting tall buildings; a great deal of killing; time passing more quickly; adornment of the mosques; prevalence of shirk; the spread of immorality; a great deal of stinginess; many earthquakes; landslides, transformations and pelting with stones from the heavens; disappearance of righteous people; believers’ dreams coming true; neglect of the Sunnah; a great deal of lying; a great deal of false testimony; a great deal of sudden death; a great deal of rain but little growth of vegetation; wishing for death; increase in numbers of the “Romans” and fighting them; and other signs which are narrated in saheeh ahaadeeth from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).

Difficult for you not to agree that most of the list above has already appeared....
Our heart beats are in the Hands of Allah, may Allah Help us use what is remaining of our life to straighten ourselves and increase our good deeds.Are we thankful enough that we are still alive?

The power of a good word

Allah (SWT) Says in His Holy Quran, in Surat Ibrahim:
{ أَلَمْ تَرَ كَيْفَ ضَرَبَ ٱللَّهُ مَثَلاً كَلِمَةً طَيِّبَةً كَشَجَرةٍ طَيِّبَةٍ أَصْلُهَا ثَابِتٌ وَفَرْعُهَا فِي ٱلسَّمَآءِ }

Have you not seen, how Allah has struck a similitude?: a goodly saying is like a goodly tree, its root set firm, and its branches are in heaven [14:24]

In this Ayah, the books of Tafseer refer the good tree as being the Date tree, and this good tree is the Muslim.

In the 40 hadiths, we can read the following:

Abu Hurairah, radiyallahu 'anhu, reported that the Messenger of Allah, sallallahu 'alayhi wasallam, said:
"Do not be envious of one another; do not artificially inflate prices against one another; do not hate one another; do not shun one another; and do not undercut one another in business transactions; and be as fellow-brothers and servants of Allah.
A Muslim is the brother of a Muslim. He neither oppresses him nor humiliates him nor looks down upon him. Piety is here - and he pointed to his chest three times. It is evil enough for a Muslim to hold his brother Muslim in contempt. All things of a Muslim are inviolable for another Muslim: his blood, his property and his honour." [Muslim].

So many recommendations, so many orders to follow, yet, when it comes to apply, how many of us do really apply these commands? we see all kind of animosity between Muslims, starting with families, wife hating her husband, husband hating his wife, brothers and sisters teared apart in the same house, uncles and aunts who were never introduced to their nephews and nieces,,,,

May Allah Cleanse our hearts, and Grant us hearts as pure as the Heart of Prophet Ibrahim (AS), the kind of heart that would make us enter Paradise, as Allah Says in His Holy Quran:
{ إِذْ جَآءَ رَبَّهُ بِقَلْبٍ سَلِيمٍ }
(الصافات:84)
When he came to his Lord with a heart that was pure [Saffat 37:84]

And also, in the Surah " the Poets" :
{ يَوْمَ لاَ يَنفَعُ مَالٌ وَلاَ بَنُونَ }
{ إِلاَّ مَنْ أَتَى ٱللَّهَ بِقَلْبٍ سَلِيمٍ }
 (الشعراء:88-89)

"the day when neither wealth nor children will avail, anyone,
except him who comes to Allah with a heart that is pure/sound " [The Poets 26: 88-89]

Unfortunately, many of us have now hearts that are so tough and hard, many have lost the meaning of the word "patience", we are living in a world full of selfishness and absence of mercy. Again, let us ask Allah to Keep us straight, and to fill our hearts with Mercy and Eeman, and Guide us to the straight path and Grant us pure hearts and Make us enter Paradise.
